Some retreats are about taking a break. This one is about stepping into something extraordinary.
Join us for an unforgettable 7 day yoga retreat in Portugal with two of the finest yoga teachers from the UK, Emily and Fay.
For one immersive week, you will be guided by two of Path of Yoga’s most experienced senior teachers, whose combined expertise in yoga, anatomy, therapy, and embodied practice creates a rare depth of experience. Emily brings exceptional anatomical precision through her work as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice, while Fay weaves in somatic awareness and therapeutic insight so the practice lands beyond the mat, not just in the body, but in the way you feel. Together, they offer an experience that is both grounding and quietly transformative.
Held at the breathtaking Monte da Orada in southern Portugal, this retreat unfolds in wide open landscapes, golden light, and deep natural stillness. Surrounded by rolling hills and close to the Atlantic coastline, you will practice in a setting designed for health, balance, and reconnection. With nourishing vegetarian cuisine, beautiful accommodation, a pool, sauna, and expansive nature all around, everything here supports you in slowing down and fully arriving.
Each day includes a morning yoga session before breakfast and an evening practice before dinner, with spacious afternoons to explore, rest, swim, hike, visit the nearby beaches, or simply enjoy the unhurried rhythm of retreat life.
This is not just a yoga holiday. It is a week of intelligent practice, inspiring guidance, meaningful connection, and a location that elevates the entire experience.
A carefully curated group of like minded people.
Exceptional teachers.
An extraordinary location.
One week that will stay with you long after you return.
This retreat is guided by Emily and Fay, two of Path of Yoga’s most trusted senior teachers who have been leading trainings and retreats together across the UK and internationally for years. Spending a full week immersed in their shared teaching is a rare opportunity.
Emily is a popular London based yoga teacher with a strong community following. She brings over a decade of teaching experience, combined with her professional work as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice. Awarded First Class Honours in Physiotherapy and the Vice Chancellor’s Prize for highest academic achievement in her graduating cohort, her understanding of the body is exceptional.
Her teaching is precise, intelligent, and deeply informed by anatomy and functional movement. Expect strong, well structured vinyasa based practices rooted in alignment, strength, and clarity. Emily has a gift for translating complex physical concepts into accessible, empowering cues that help every student feel safe, capable, and appropriately challenged. Her classes are energising, thoughtful, and carefully crafted, blending physical intelligence with philosophical depth.
Fay’s path into yoga began through personal transformation. With advanced training in Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and therapeutic modalities including hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, she brings profound depth to the emotional and energetic layers of practice.
Her teaching thoughtfully integrates body and mind with care and intention. Fay creates inclusive, welcoming spaces where students can explore both strength and softness. Her sequences are purposeful, at times gently demanding, and always rooted in connection. She has taught throughout the UK and internationally, and her passion lies in helping students integrate yoga far beyond the mat.
This 7 day yoga retreat at Monte da Orada is designed as a rhythm rather than a rigid timetable. A gentle structure holds you, with space woven throughout to simply breathe.
Each morning begins in the shala with guided practice before breakfast. As the sun rises over the Portuguese hills and birdsong fills the air, you move, breathe, and settle into your body. These sessions blend intelligent sequencing with attention to strength, mobility, alignment, and nervous system balance.
In the late afternoon, before dinner, we gather again. Some evenings are restorative and grounding, others steady and strengthening. There will be breathwork, meditation, and space for integration. We will also share a special fire ceremony to honour the autumn equinox, marking the seasonal shift with intention.
And in between, the experience opens up.
Your afternoons are spacious and entirely yours. Relax by the swimming pool, unwind in the sauna, take a slow walk through the lush hills surrounding the retreat centre, or join others for an outing to one of the nearby Atlantic beaches along the Costa Vicentina. The coastline here is wild and breathtaking. The countryside is quiet and expansive. Nature becomes an extension of the practice itself.
There is no pressure to do everything. This is not a retreat built on intensity or performance. It is a carefully held balance of yoga, meditation, rest, connection, and time outdoors. You are invited to follow your own rhythm. Join when you feel called. Step back when you need stillness.
The classes are accessible and adaptable to different levels of experience. Whether you are a yoga teacher, a regular practitioner, or simply seeking a week of meaningful rest in Portugal, you will be supported.
This retreat is about depth without overwhelm.
Connection without noise.
Movement without striving.
It is a space to practice, to breathe, to walk barefoot on the earth, to watch the sunset over the hills, and to remember what it feels like to truly slow down.
YES, if you are seeking:
• To deepen your yoga practice in a supportive, non competitive, and inclusive environment
• High quality teaching with personal attention and thoughtful guidance
• Space to slow down, reset, and reconnect physically and mentally
• Nourishing food, comfortable accommodation, and time immersed in nature
• Genuine connection with a small group of like minded people
Whether you are a dedicated practitioner, a yoga teacher, or simply feeling the call for a meaningful pause from everyday life, you are warmly welcome.
Come on your own and leave feeling connected.
Alongside the yoga sessions, this retreat has been created to allow authentic connection to unfold naturally. The days are varied and spacious, inviting you to share, reflect, rest, laugh, and enjoy the simplicity of being together.
There is room to move consciously, rest deeply, enjoy shared meals, explore the land, and experience both quiet moments and joyful gatherings. Community forms gently, without pressure, through shared presence.
Our home for the week is the extraordinary Monte da Orada, a family run, eco conscious retreat sanctuary nestled within 71 hectares of protected land in the wild Alentejo region of Portugal. This is more than a venue. It is a living landscape devoted to restoration, connection, and meaningful time away from daily noise.
We have hosted retreats here before, and each time it has felt truly magical. There is a rare quality of peace at Monte da Orada. The silence is spacious. The light is golden. The atmosphere invites you to soften within hours of arriving. It is one of those places that lingers in your memory.
Set in a secluded green valley where two creeks meet, the land feels like a hidden oasis. Ancient cork oaks, pine forests, open skies, and rolling hills surround the property, creating both grounding and openness. Sunrises are gentle and expansive. Evenings dissolve into breathtaking sunsets across the valley.
During your stay you will enjoy:
• Comfortable and thoughtfully designed accommodation immersed in nature
• A spacious, light filled yoga shala
• A natural biopool, sauna, meditation temple, and panoramic terraces
• Walking trails, quiet corners for reflection, and access to wild Atlantic beaches nearby
• Outstanding vegetarian cuisine prepared with care, using organic produce, much of it grown directly in the gardens
Monte da Orada was created with a clear intention to support health, sustainability, and conscious living. From its permaculture gardens to its carefully held communal spaces, everything encourages presence and balance. It is a place where you can truly exhale and reconnect in a simple, profound way.
This retreat is not only about what happens in the shala. It is about the environment that holds that experience. And Monte da Orada does it beautifully.
The food at Monte da Orada deserves its own spotlight. Each meal is fresh, vibrant, and deeply nourishing, prepared with seasonal ingredients and genuine care. Much of the produce comes directly from the land or from local sources, ensuring quality, flavour, and sustainability in every bite.
The cuisine is vegetarian and thoughtfully designed to complement your yoga practice throughout the week. It is balanced and energising, helping you feel light yet grounded, satisfied yet clear. Wholesome without being heavy, generous without being complicated, the meals feel like an essential part of the retreat experience.
Having hosted retreats here before, we can honestly say the food was one of the absolute highlights. Colourful, nourishing, and consistently delicious, it is prepared with real intention. We are genuinely excited to return and share it with you again.
This is not simply a holiday, nor is it a training.
It is a week of intentional practice, spacious rest, and meaningful connection, guided by experienced teachers and held in an environment that naturally supports presence and wellbeing.
If you love nature, healthy organically grown food, and are looking for peace, tranquility, and soul nourishment, this is the place to be.

This retreat is an invitation to step into the Path of Yoga way of living, not just practising.
Held at Monte da Orada, a secluded eco-retreat in southern Portugal, the week is designed to balance structured practice with spaciousness, depth with lightness, and learning with rest.
Each day we gather for carefully curated yoga practices, meditation, reflection, and shared inquiry. These sessions are supported by long breaks for integration, nature immersion, meaningful conversation, and quiet time. There is no rush, no pressure, and no expectation to perform.
The environment plays a central role. Surrounded by wild nature, organic gardens, and open landscapes, the nervous system naturally unwinds. This allows the teachings to be absorbed more deeply, and the connections between people to form with ease and authenticity.
As with all Path of Yoga offerings, the emphasis is on intelligent practice, self-awareness, and honest connection. This retreat is not about escaping life, but about meeting it more fully, with clarity, softness, and strength.
Monte da Orada provides the container. Path of Yoga provides the guidance. Together, they create the conditions for a week that feels grounding, expansive, and quietly transformative.
